Landscape painter artist Mr. Govinda Bahadur Tamang
Govinda was born in the land of great landscapes in the eastern part of Nepal in Ramechhap district. Since his early childhood he was inspired by the fabulous Art of the Nature. He spend a most of his childhood in the areas of the nature's paradise with green fields, colorful fruit trees, and the sky kissing mountains of the Nepal.
Since his early hood his love of the nature the smell of the greenery, the music of the wind and the height of the Alps put his mind towards the color and the paint of this splendor beauty of the nature.
Art is not only pouring colors and paint on the canvass but it is the knowledge of comparison of the changing cruel real world and the constant philosophy of the nature. To grab the strong fist around the knowledge he traveled a number of places domestically and internationally, met a lot of philosophers, scholars and the artists to gain a true knowledge.
Like any true artist Mr. Govinda's capital is his creativity, imagination, dedication and love of nature. His brush strokes not only express the scene in view but it also gives us a picture of the life inside and around us.

His specialty is the expression of the outer height of the nature and the inner highness of the human nature. The way he spread the colors on the canvass put life, realism, and depth in the landscape. His work and style is a combination of physical and mental hard work, and have a unique touch of its own.
Color handling, focusing, placing of the different images, capturing the light and shade, and time factor is a few of his artistic expertise. He builds his reputation as a nature lover and as a landscape artist in Nepal. He regularly participates in the exhibitions held in the country since early 70's. He has received a numerous awards from different authorities.

1971: Solo exhibition, held at the Nepal Tourism Development Authority, Kathmandu, Nepal
1975: Art and Cultural Exhibition held at Ustad Allah Baksh Academy of realistic art, Lahore, Pakistan.
1981: Competition of the National Painters, held in Nepal.
1986: Solo Exhibition, held at cultural center, Peking, China.
1989: Participated in an art show in South Korea.
1989: Another show held in Seoul, South Korea. Arranged by the Royal Nepalese Embassy.
1993: Colombo, Srilanka, arranged a solo exhibition, by the High Commissioner of the Royal Nepalese Embassy.
1995: On the occassion of the Deepawali, an exhibition was held at the Bombay Film Studios. In which he received the third prize.
1997: Gold Medal: Nepal - China Friendship and Cultural Council, First Painting & Display Contest, Kathmandu - 1997
1999: Partricipated in an art exhibition held at the Art School of the University of the Singapore.
1999: A solo exhibition, held at Ustad Allah Baksh Academy, Brooklyn, New York.
2001: Awarded with Gold Medal for a Solo Art Exhibition held in Kathmandu on the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King Birendra's 56th Birth Day.
In short Mr. Govinda is a famous and national artist of Nepal. He loves to work on the nature for the nature. As an artist he has a great reputation. In fact he is a nature lover, and a marvelous color handler.
Mr. Govinda has exhibited his artwork in a number of different countries like China, India, Korea, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan and U.S.A.
